Research on addictive disorders

LIFESPRING Science

Research into substance dependencies and addictive disorders is constantly advancing. As a separate department of LIFESPRING – Privatklinik Bad Münstereifel, we pursue the goal of recording these new findings and bringing about innovations. In doing so, it is our concern to collect existing information and thus to strengthen the understanding about addictions and to disseminate knowledge. We also like to get in touch with other scientists and networks in order to advance joint research and to achieve progress for medicine and thus for society.

Cue Exposure Therapy (CET) trains the patient in the clinical and post-clinical setting to deal with situations and triggers of the disorder using key triggering stimuli (cues) and to bring about long-term improvement. In the case of alcohol use disorder (AUD), specifically, this procedure is said to be highly effective, yet the study results are inconsistent.
